Woodwind Ensemble Books

Most of these books will be for intermediate and advanced players. This is less due to technical difficultes than to the fact that the music is for 3 or more players working together without a conductor. For most kids, this means that they need 2-3 years experience playing music, and some experience with playing duets. These requirements are not written in stone--particularly if the young players are supervised by an experienced musician.

• Shawnee's "Sessions" Books: Maximum bang for your buck! - From the publishers of the Tune-A-Day method books comes a series of single volumes chocked full of arrangements for 2, 3 and 4 identical instruments. Even a couple of nice jazz/swing arrangements. Duets include some interesting pieces like crab canons, upside down duets, forwards/backwards duets, and more. A tremendous education for one $10 book.
